| Contest!Ends on the 28th of February! Ends on Marth 7th! So the Cult has its first contest, and it's one that everyone can enter with generally equal footing. What we have here is the Creature Creation Contest for the proto-reality that The Stick Cult roleplay takes place in. These creatures will become a possible encounter, so whether or not you want it to be scary and violent or cute and adorable is up to you! ▲▼▲▼▲▼ RULES ▼▲▼▲▼▲ 1. Creatures can NOT be from another series. (Game series, movies, books, etc.) 2. They must be of your own creation. 3. Entries are to be sent to Nastydog via PM only. You must not show your entry to anyone else! 4. Judges cannot enter. Obviously. 5. One entry per member.▲▼▲▼▲▼ GUIDELINES ▼▲▼▲▼▲ 1. They cannot be any bigger than an elephant. (Relative size. Pretty simple.) 2. They cannot be any smaller than a house cat. 3. Must work. The creature's abilities and body/functions must be able to work. Feel free to get crazy, but try to make it as believable as possible! 4. They can live anywhere within the proto-reality. Cold climates, snow, caves, ruins, etc. 5. You DO NOT have to submit a picture with it. (Though you definitely can if you want.) If you can describe your creature with just text, then go for it! 6. We are not judging you on your art skills. 7. The more detail, the better!▲▼▲▼▲▼ PRIZES! ▼▲▼▲▼▲ First Place1. A Stick Crown! An extremely rare item you can only win through contests! It allows you to feel a false sense of authority over others! 2. The extremely rare Yaban companion: The Banshee! 3. A peek into The Stick Book of Everything! It allows you to add a class boost in any direction. (EX: It can teach your character to use magic if they can't already.)Second Place1. A Common Forest Yaban companion! 2. A celebration potato! It doesn't do anything but you can eat it!Third Place1. A Common Yaban companion! 2. A friendly flogging!▲▼▲▼▲▼ WINNERS! ▼▲▼▲▼▲ First Place: FishgutsEntry: - Spoiler:
FISHGUTS "Grave robber" bats: Grave robbers are a species of bat that live in caves or areas similar to caves such as caverns and even the occasional hollow tree if it is large enough. Colonies of these bats can range from twenty to several hundred. The colonies have a hive mentality with a matriarch at the top. The smaller and younger bats bring the queen gems or precious metals to hoard similar to certain species of bird and of course dragons. Grave robbers have adapted to be able to locate these gems and minerals with ease over time. They not only have a very large front claw for digging through caves and other rock deposits but their saliva is similar in composition to HCL (hydrochloric acid), breaking down any rock containing carbon without damaging flesh or any other organic matter. Along with these the bats' noses have adapted to be able to smell traces of carbon, oxygen and a few trace other elements commonly found in gems to make locating them deep within cave walls easier. Their wings are made of a slightly thicker skin making them resistant to tears while digging. The queens of the nest often consume their wokers before they become large enough to overpower her however there are a few grave robbers with enough sense to live in solitary, eventually starting a nest of their own. Usually these are female. The name "grave robbers" came about due to their habbit of digging into grave sites and robbing corpses of any jewlery they may be wearing if they are made of real gems and metals. Their diet consists mainly of insects and clay minerals however the larger ones have been known to consume prey such as birds and lemurs Echolocation is also an adaption they have developed to maneuver through their enviornment Second Place: WaltonEntry: - Spoiler:
WALTON Diet: During the day Kala will feed on various plants, usually from the bottoms of low trees and bushes due to the location of its mouth. At night Kala will either continue feeding on plants or will become violent predators using their second set of eyes to see nearly perfectly in the dark. Individual Behaviour: The Kala'Kal is a rather docile creature during the day, however at night juvenile and ill Kala have a tendency to become violent or reactive. Social Behaviour: Kala will often congregate in groups of 8-12 though groups of fewer or more are not unheard of. Lone Kala are rare, but occasionally this happens with early adults(5-6 years of age) or elder (35-40) Kala. Kala produce several vocalizations ranging from grunts and groans to sounds similar to yodeling. The mating call of the Kala is a series of wooping noises followed by several low grunts. Relationship with characters: The Kala'Kal is tamable and often used as a pack animal or mount. In order to tame a Kala'Kal one must establish a mutual respect with the animal by protecting it and its herd or some other feat of strength or will. This respect however does not ensure usability of the animal as it needs to be broken, similar to a horse. Once tamed and broken a Kala will remain faithful to only the creature who tamed it. In the case of bipedal masters a Kala will often allow the use of its arms as stirrups. For smaller quadrupeds a Kala will often pick up the master and carry it around. Appearance and biology: The Kala'Kal is a quadruped although it possesses a third pair of limbs just behind the front legs. This limbs have hands that they use for carrying around their young and, when tamed, possessions of their master.
The Kala'Kal has two sets of eyes, the top pair are for night vision and are more often than not an orange or gold color. The bottom pair are for day vision and can be seen in most colors including red, blue, green, gold, and brown.
Bony protrusions cover the shoulder, kneecap, jaw, and top of its head. The nostrils are in the front of the crest and are part of the vocal system. More often than not the bony protrusions are covered in intricate colorful patterns which in the Kala'Kal society are seen as status symbols.
Kala'Kal have three stomachs two primary stomachs, one each or meat and plants, and a secondary stomach that the other two feed into.
There is no visible difference between the sexes of the Kala'Kal.
The Kala'Kal breed once every two years, usually in the late winter as the gestation period lasts until early summer.
Kala'Kal come in a narrow range of colors though usually blacks, greys, and whites with the undersides lighter and extremities darker. Intelligence: Kala'Kal are semi-sentient. They have a strict matriarchal society and establish territory borders with primitive stone piles. They have a basic language based on their vocalizations as well as body language. They keep a verbal history which is passed down from matriarch to matriarch.Habitat: Kala'Kal live mainly in plains although they are known to exist in the tundra and forests.I forgot to include the size. They stand about 5-7' tall at the shoulder. Between about 12 and 17 feet long from nose to butt, excluding tail. Third Place: BaobabEntry: - Spoiler:
BAOBAB
(they are about 1ft long, but can get bigger if they live longer)
Other Entries - Spoiler:
STRIFE Name: Lucipheles Appearance: Based off of the Luna Moths, these insect's most noticable feature is a black colar of fluff surrounding the area below its neck. As different species of this moth appear depending on the season, their colors range from dull brown on autumn to a wintery white (Common Lucipheles have soft brown wings, minty green antennas and a chocolate brown body to hide on the tree barks). Larvae Lucipheles can reach the size of a human hand and older ones the size of a dog, certain types of Lucipheles even wield horns similar to a Hercules Beetle! Some of them leave dust from their wings. Behaviour: Lucipheles are a really clever and docile insect and should someone befriend one, a really handy companion. They appear to understand human speech as one will flee if a dangerous creature appears. Another hint on their cleverness is the fact a befriended Lucipheles will use the objects around it to interact with their owner. They breed asexually which means when one of these insects is ready to die, it will lay its eggs (Around 90 to 120 eggs) and afterwards encase them in an acidic saliva (After consuming certain herbs to do so) to protect them. Strangely enough, Lucipheles are lonely creatures and only in extremely rare intervals will you see a swarm of them. (*Cough* You're most likely to see Strife hugging Nastydog rather than a swarm of them *Cough cough*) Diet: A Common Lucipheles feeds off of light and to do that, they have develop photosynthesis so most of the time, you will find them sitting on a sunny spot with their wings spread most of the time. Each species has a different diet Other species: Snowsquall Lucipheles - This species appears only in the winter and feeds on tiny ice shards which shatter with their horn. Most noticable colors are soft blue and white. Venom-Horn (Or Venomous) Lucipheles - Like their names imply, their horn is hollow and has taken the role of a stinger taking the form of a Yello Jacket stinger. They feed on smaller insects and can be indentified by its vibrant colors. Cave Lucipheles - Unlike others of their species, they hardly look like a moth. Cave Lucipheles take a more beetle-like appearance with the exception of the fluffy collar of its kind, their colors are dark and dusty browns like the caves they inhabit in. Due to the lack of light, they have develop echolocation to see and use their hard, heavy horn to pierce through rocks (In the right hands, a Cave Lucipheles' horn can even become a knife!) In order to carry the massive horn, they have 'abandon' their wings for a stronger and bulkier body. They feed on grinded up stones. Necropheles - Necropheles are the larger and more hostile of the species, its colors looks nothing like the others as they are monochromatic save for a white (when the body is black or vise versa) skull on their belly and vibrant eye spots that give them the appearance of a floating skull when looking at them from a distance. They are cannibalistic and use their sharp, hollow horn to pierce through the 'acidic shield' to feeds on other Lucipheles' eggs and larvas. Refresh Lucipheles - Mainly named for their refreshing bright blue and yellow colors but also the cool dust they drop, these Lucipheles appear in the summer and feed on the pollen of summer flowers. (And my most favourite one) Berry Lucipheles - This species appears in spring and are famous for their pastel pink wings and red body. They feed on red berries and their dust smells according to te last berry they had. Items they drop: Snowsquall - Plain Snow Venomous - Venom dust (It is best to keep this one in a jar) Cave - Grounded precious stone and tough horn Necropheles - Hollow horn Refresh - Cool dust (Can be used as a sunscreen during summer) Berry - Sweet dust ----- Here is my entry! If something needs changing, please let me know! DAMIEN Creature name: Phasmatis Vulpes (Ghost Fox) Physical description: This creature is about the size of a regular red fox. About twice as large as a house cat. This swift creature has a thick red coat and black stockings. The tips of their ears are black and the tip of their tail (as well as their underbelly) is snow white. Their snouts are pointed and their faces are long. They have beady black eyes that'll send just about anybody in a trance. Their small but lean frame help them dash though the forest swiftly and noiselessly. Although there is just one thing... They might not even be real. History: The Ghost Fox looks as though it is there, but it isn't. It is merely a hallucination. Although many beg to differ (hence the name). Many wolves and other creatures have found proof that the Ghost Fox is not a legend, but a real species who's learned the art of sneakiness and trickery. Personality: The Ghost Fox is known for coming out of nowhere and to distract their victim from what they're doing. They tilt their heads to one side and stare at you with what seems like their empty eye sockets and purr. Those whom have never encountered one of these, usually fall for its tricks. Some of these foxes will simply divert your attention for a moment and leave, some will put you in a trance and guide you to doing things you never thought imaginable. It is impossible to catch a Ghost Fox. No one knows if there are many Ghost Foxes or only one that keeps appearing. The Ghost Fox is yet still a great mystery. How to Avoid Being Controlled by A Ghost Fox: Don't travel though the woods alone if you can. If not and you encounter one, don't give it eye contact even if it's tempting. The Ghost Fox only has power if it has eye contact. Otherwise, it is powerless. MUTT

| I would love to join, but my art skills are terrible and people would be insulted by my art. Do you have to draw or can it just be really descriptive? | |

Good luck to everyone entering~ ♫ | |
